Den of Thieves 2: Pantera ransacks theaters on January 10, 2025, giving audiences another daring bank heist seven years after The Outlaws robbed Los Angeles' Federal Reserve. Although The Outlaws' leader, Ray Merrimen (Pablo Schreiber), will not participate in the risky overseas robbery, a handful of characters from the original return for more hyper-violent action as the story moves overseas to London.

Gerard Butler as Big Nick O'Brien

Gerard Butler (300) reprises his role as Nicholas "Big Nick" O'Brien in Den of Thieves 2. Big Nick leads a division of corrupt Los Angeles police officers, The Regulators, investigating bank robberies for the Major Crimes Unit. In the underrated 2018 action movie, The Regulators pursue a bank robbery gang called The Outlaws, led by Ray Merrimen (Schreiber). The Outlaws consist of former U.S. Marines who operate with ruthless precision and organizational tact.

Tormented on and off work, Big Nick struggles with alcohol, fights with his estranged wife Holly, spends too much time obsessed with catching The Regulators, and ignores his two young daughters in the process. He's also morally compromised and willing to bend the law to catch the robbers at all costs. In Den of Thieves 2, Big Nick continues to pursue Donnie Wilson, one of the lone survivors who fled to Europe to plot a new diamond heist.

O'Shea Jackson Jr. Donnie Wilson

O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton) expands his role as Donnie Wilson from the original when Pantera travels abroad. In the original, Donnie is introduced as a low-level pawn and getaway driver for The Regulators who is gullible and inexperienced. Yet, thanks to Big Nick's investigation, Donnie is revealed to be the real mastermind behind the Federal Reserve heist in L.A., liberating $30 million in old, uncirculated bills.

Once Nick learns that Donnie has betrayed the Regulators and sent the stolen money to an offshore Panama account, he pursues Donnie overseas to Europe, where Donnie plans a new diamond heist. According to Gudegast via Screen Rant, the next robbery is based on the 2003 Antwerp diamond heist in Belgium. The subtitle "Pantera" refers to the band of jewel thieves who went by the name Pink Panthers.

Meadow Williams as Holly O'Brien

Meadow Williams (Boss Level) plays Holly O'Brien again in Den of Thieves 2. In the original, Holly played Ray Merrimen's wife who waited 10 years for his release from prison. Although Ray claims to be a changed man, his relationship with Holly is strained and full of pain and turmoil, mirroring Nick's troubled marriage to Debbie (Dawn Olivieri). Even so, Holly remains dedicated to Ray and supports his criminal ways.

While it's unclear if Holly will travel to Europe with The Outlaws or communicate with them from abroad in Den of Thieves 2, it stands to reason that she will have revenge on her mind after Ray was killed in the original movie. No matter where she is or who she allies with, Nick must deal with Holly's vengeance on top of Donnie and a new gang of international jewel thieves. Unfortunately, with Olivier's absence in the sequel, it seems Big Nick's marriage has hit the rocks.

Michael Bisping as Connor

Den of Thieves was noted for its hardcore violence and hypermasculinity. Gudesgast achieved this by casting real-life MMA fighters like Max Holloway and Oleg Taktarov as low-level members of The Outlaws. While Holloway and Taktarov will not appear in Pantera, former MMA star and UFC Champion Michael Bisping will reprise his role as Connor in the upcoming sequel.

Connor appears at the end of Den of Thieves, greeting Donnie in a European pub. Donnie feigns a British accent before Connor introduces him to a criminal associate plotting their next robbery in Europe. Sure to expand his role from the original, Connor's middle managerial role is just the beginning. The first film ends with Nick spotting an old soccer photo that includes Connor and Donnie on the same team, indicating years of cooperation that look to pay dividends in Den of Thieves 2.

Jordan Bridges as Bob

Finally, Jordan Bridges will play Bob once more in Pantera. In the original, Bob was an investigator working for the Federal government in Los Angeles who obeyed the law and acted with moral scruples. He is the complete opposite of his archenemy Big Nick, a maverick rule-breaker willing to do whatever is necessary to capture criminals and send them to jail.

While Bob's role in the sequel is uncertain, it's clear that Gudegast has given Big Nick several obstacles to prevail in Den of Thieves 2. Beyond stopping Donnie from executing a daring diamond heist with his new European accomplices, Bob (along with Holly and Connor) is one of many loose ends Nick must tie up and square away when Pantera blasts theaters on January 10, 2025.
